PRAYER OF THE DAY
The Serenity Prayer:
“God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time.
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace.
Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world
As it is, not as I would have it.
Trusting that You will make all things right
If I surrender to Your will.
So that I may be reasonably happy
In this life and supremely happy with
You forever in the next. Amen.”
CONFESSION & FORGIVENESS:
Dear Father, I must confess that I often lose sight of your bigger picture. I get stuck in the details. I glare at the splinter in my neighbor’s eye and fail to see the log in my own. I get caught up in my selfish little molehill and fail to recognize the mountains that others must struggle against. I focus on the small negatives and inconveniences that come before me and fail to recognize each day’s simple wonders and beauty. Forgive me for my short-sightedness. Amen
