Amen.
HOLY COMMUNION LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever. Amen.

CELEBRATION OF GRADUATE SYDNEY KRINGSTAD (Davenport Only)
PRAYER: Loving God, we thank you for Sydney who graduates from high school this year, a milestone in her life. You have blessed her during her years in school with wisdom, friendships, and talents. You continue to challenge her to make this world a better place. Help her to look forward to her next steps: continuing in her education at Concordia. Give her faith and a sense of purpose in these next steps in life. Show her how to continue to serve others as well.
And may she always be aware in everything she does that she will find fulfillment in doing your will, that you will be with her always, and that you will bring to completion the good work you have begun in her.
May she always know how loved she is by you Lord, by her family, and by this congregation. In your Holy Name, we pray, Amen.
CELEBRATION OF CONFIRMAND REED JOHNSON (Davenport Only)
Heavenly Father, We raise our confirmand Reed to you. We rejoice in his faith journey and ask you to be his guide, guardian, and help. Let him feel the love of his church family as he continues his faith journey. Reveal to him your plan your good and wonderful plan for his life. Surround him with your Holy Spirit, instilling in him the confidence only you can provide. Gracious God, help us to live as your role models for our youth. Give us the wisdom, strength, and courage to walk uprightly, to do your will, to reflect the love of Jesus in all circumstances. Help us make good choices. Let us continue to grow in faith, to commit to study of your word, and share the good news of the Gospel with the youth of this congregation. You have richly blessed our church family and we are grateful for all you have done. We give you honor, glory, and praise. In your Holy Name, we pray Amen.
APOSTLES’ CREED (ELW p. 152)
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.*
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
Mother’s Day Litany:

All: We pray for healing.
One: For mothers who have died, that live no longer with us, but whose light shines on in our hearts and memories,
All: We pray for those that mourn and give God thanks for life eternal.
One: For mothers who grieve, who have lost children born or unborn,
All: We weep with those with broken hearts.
One: For those who are struggling to raise children, who are tired and weary,
All: We pray that we may be their village, offering real help in hard times.
One: For those who are preparing emptier nests,
All: We both celebrate and mourn with you, and hope their wings are as strong as their roots are deep.
One: For stepmothers, navigating the pitfalls and joys of creating a new family,
All: We pray for wisdom and patience.
One: For Grandmothers who are doing the hard work of raising children again,
All: We pray for the caregivers, those who care for the children.

All: We give God thanks and praise.
One: For the mothers, sisters, daughters in our midst and around the world. For the women who, created in the image of God, give not just life, but abundant life. For women fighting, struggling, and sweating for the sake of others. For women caring, compassionate, and crying with the heart of Christ. For the caregivers, prophets, preachers, teachers, leaders, shepherds, healers. For Moms, in their wide variety and many forms,
All: We give God thanks and praise
OFFERING SONG: Borning Cry (#732)
OFFERING PRAYER (ELW p. 152)
Let us pray.
Blessed are you, O God, maker of all things. Through your goodness, you have blessed us with these gifts: ourselves, our time, and our possessions. Use us, and what we have gathered, in feeding the world with your love, through the one who gave himself for us, Jesus Christ, our Savior, and Lord. Amen.
CHILDREN’S MOMENT: KIDS SING AND MOTHER’S DAY POEM
Mother’s Day Poem
I love her so much, my mom. She's always in my heart. Even though we argue, we'll never be apart.
She can tell when I have problems. She knows when I am down. She's always there to cheer me up and take away my frowns. At times when I get mad at her, it's hard to stay that way. Only because she makes me laugh every passing day. Mom, I love you More than you see. You have always been there When I needed you to be. I wish there was more For you I could do, But all I can say Is how much I love you. It is deeper than the oceans, Higher than the sun. I could shout it forever And still not be done. Your smile is a keepsake. I keep close to my heart That I open up and treasure When we are apart. Happy Mother’s Day!
SENDING God blesses us and sends us in mission to the world.
